The injured, currently undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, were personally met by the dignitaries, who expressed their sympathies and pledged the full support of both the Union and State governments. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated: “After paying homage to those martyred in the Pahalgam terror attack yesterday, I accompanied the Hon’ble Home Minister of India Shri Amit Shah Ji to GMC Anantnag to enquire about the well-being of the injured. We are ensuring best medical care is available for their speedy recovery.” The visit comes a day after a brutal terrorist assault in the popular tourist town of Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 civilians and left many others seriously wounded. The tragedy has prompted nationwide grief and renewed calls for heightened security in the region. Hospital officials confirmed that medical teams are working round the clock to stabilise the injured and that advanced treatment facilities have been made available under the direct supervision of the health department.
