Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Calls for Collaborative Efforts Between J&K Government and Central Government to Shape a Better Future

Kathua, 19th April 2025: Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah today emphasised the crucial need for joint efforts between the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Government and the Central Government to foster progress and development in the region. His remarks came during the inauguration of a new multi-storey Municipal Parking Complex in Kathua, in collaboration with Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh.

The event was attended by several distinguished figures, including the Chairperson of the District Development Council, MLAs from Kathua, Jasrota, Hiranagar, and Bani constituencies, the Commissioner Secretary of Housing & Urban Development, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, and other senior officials.

Addressing a large gathering following the inauguration, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated, “The future of Jammu and Kashmir lies in the collective efforts of both the J&K Government and the Central Government. Together, we must work towards a brighter future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

The Chief Minister reiterated his government's commitment to providing essential public services, including clean drinking water, electricity, improved roads, healthcare, and education. He affirmed, “Our responsibility remains to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and we will continue to work hand-in-hand with the Central Government to secure a better future for all.”

On the importance of continuity in governance, Omar Abdullah remarked, “Our priority is to complete the ongoing projects and sustain the development momentum we have built. This will ensure that the progress continues for the benefit of the people.”

The Chief Minister also expressed his support for the recent announcement by Dr Jitendra Singh regarding a major project in memory of the late Union Minister Arun Jaitley. “I assure the people of Jammu and Kashmir that my government will extend full support to the Union Government in bringing this vision to fruition. We are committed to building world-class infrastructure that will elevate Jammu and Kashmir. One day, instead of watching IPL matches on television, the people of this region will have the opportunity to watch them live,” he added.

In conclusion, Omar Abdullah encouraged citizens to make use of the newly inaugurated parking facility, saying, “I urge everyone to utilise this modern parking complex. Not only does it ensure that your vehicle remains safe and clean, but it is also a significant step towards improving the infrastructure of our region.”

The multi-storey Municipal Parking Complex is part of ongoing efforts to enhance urban infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, addressing the growing demand for parking space in Kathua.
