Lieutenant Governor Attends Inaugural Ceremony of Ram Katha by Pujya Morari Bapu in Srinagar![]() Srinagar, 19th April 2025: The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, today attended the inaugural ceremony of the Ram Katha at Srinagar, delivered by the esteemed spiritual leader, Pujya Morari Bapu. In his address, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the universal significance of the sacred Ram Katha, noting that the teachings of Prabhu Shri Ram—rooted in righteousness, compassion, justice, and duty—resonate across cultures and communities. He remarked, "Ram Katha speaks a universal language, transcending boundaries and offering moral guidance that fosters unity and shared understanding among people across the globe." Emphasising the enduring impact of Ram Katha, Shri Sinha said, "For centuries, the blessings of Lord Ram have illuminated the path for humanity. The Ram Katha, as recited by Morari Bapu worldwide, continues to bring people together and inspire wisdom." He further highlighted the importance of Ram Katha in shaping societal values, stressing its role in promoting equity, moral integrity, and equal opportunity. The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Pujya Morari Bapu, recognising his lifelong efforts in spreading the teachings of Lord Ram through core principles of truth, love, compassion, and universal brotherhood. Morari Bapu, a renowned exponent of the Ram Charit Manas, has been reciting Ram Kathas globally for over fifty years, enriching millions of lives with his spiritual insights. The Lieutenant Governor extended his congratulations to Shri Arun Kumar Saraf and Shri Kaushalesh Nandan Prasad Sinha, Trustees of the Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Trust, for their efforts in organising the first Ram Katha in the Kashmir Valley in several decades. The inaugural ceremony, attended by a large gathering of devotees from various walks of life, took place on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake. This marks the beginning of a nine-day Ram Katha Shivir, an event eagerly anticipated by the community. |
