Amit Shah Visits Site of Pahalgam Terror Attack, Receives Detailed Briefing from Officials

Pahalgam, 23 April 2025: In the aftermath of the brutal terror attack that shook the region of Pahalgam, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah today visited the site of the incident to take stock of the situation and review the security response on the ground.

During his visit, Mr Shah received a comprehensive briefing from senior police and security officials regarding the sequence of events, the current status of the investigation, and the measures being implemented to prevent further such attacks. Sources indicated that the Home Minister sought clarity on intelligence inputs, response timelines, and coordination between central and local agencies.

The visit underscored the gravity with which the central government views the incident, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals and injuries to several others. Mr Shah’s presence on the ground also served as a message of reassurance to the local population and a signal of the government’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Earlier in the day, the Home Minister also joined Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in paying homage to the deceased and visited injured victims at Government Medical College Anantnag, pledging full support for their treatment and recovery.

Security forces remain on high alert across the region, with intensified operations underway to apprehend those responsible for what has been widely condemned as a cowardly and inhuman act of violence.
