Forest Department and Government Degree College Khaltse Commemorate World Earth Day with Plantation Drive Khaltse, 22 April 2025: The Forest Department, in collaboration with Government Degree College Khaltse, marked World Earth Day 2025 with a plantation drive on the college campus, echoing the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.†The programme was formally inaugurated by Mrs Yangdol, Principal of Government Degree College Khaltse, and Mr Abbas Ali, Block Officer, Forest Range Khaltse, who jointly planted the first sapling to symbolise the commencement of the event. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and forest officials, all united in their commitment to environmental conservation. The plantation drive aimed to raise awareness about climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the critical role of green spaces in sustaining ecological balance. The event underscored the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and reaffirmed the shared responsibility of institutions and individuals in building a sustainable, greener future. |
