Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Issues Statement on Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir Rome, 22 April 2025: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with India following the deadly terrorist attack that took place earlier today in Pahalgam, a popular tourist town in Jammu and Kashmir. In her official statement, Prime Minister Meloni said: "I am deeply saddened by the terrorist attack that happened in India today, causing numerous victims. Italy conveys its sympathy to the families affected, to those injured, to the Government and to all Indian people." The attack, which targeted a group of tourists in the mountainous Baisaran area near Pahalgam, resulted in the deaths of over 20 civilians and left many others seriously wounded. Indian authorities have launched a large-scale operation to apprehend those responsible. |
