Bharat Will Not Bend to Terror: Amit Shah on Pahalgam Attack Srinagar, 23 April 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a firm and emotional response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, vowed that the nation would not yield to terrorism and assured that those responsible for the killing of innocent tourists would be brought to justice. Speaking after paying tribute to the victims, Mr Shah stated, “With a heavy heart, paid last respects to the deceased of the Pahalgam terror attack. Bharat will not bend to terror. The culprits of this dastardly terror attack will not be spared.” The Home Minister made the remarks via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, shortly after laying wreaths on the bodies of the 26 victims who lost their lives in the attack. His statement comes amid national outrage and mourning, as political leaders across the spectrum have called for a united front against terrorism. Mr Shah's visit to the region is seen as a strong signal of the central government’s commitment to justice and national security. The Pahalgam attack, which has been linked to a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, has once again highlighted the persistent threat of cross-border terrorism. Security forces have since intensified search operations in the region, and high-level security reviews are underway.
