Prime Minister Hosts U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Family![]() New Delhi, 21 April 2025: The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, today hosted the Vice President of the United States of America, the Honourable J.D. Vance, who was accompanied by the Second Lady, Mrs. Usha Vance, their children, and senior members of the U.S. Administration. The Prime Minister fondly recalled his visit to Washington D.C. earlier in January, during which he held fruitful discussions with President Donald Trump. These discussions, he noted, had laid the foundation for a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen cooperation between India and the United States—anchored in the shared aspirations of Make America Great Again (MAGA) and Viksit Bharat 2047. Prime Minister Modi and Vice President Vance undertook a review of the current state of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the significant progress achieved across a range of sectors. The leaders welcomed the substantial headway made in the ongoing negotiations for a mutually beneficial India–U.S. Bilateral Trade Agreement, with a particular focus on the welfare and prosperity of the people in both nations. In a similar vein, they acknowledged sustained efforts to bolster collaboration in critical areas such as energy, defence, and strategic technologies. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both dignitaries to exchange perspectives on pressing regional and global developments. They jointly emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as essential tools for fostering peace and resolving conflict. Prime Minister Modi extended his best wishes to Vice President Vance, the Second Lady, and their children, wishing them a pleasant and productive stay in India. He also conveyed his warm greetings to President Donald Trump and expressed his anticipation for the President’s forthcoming visit to India later this year. |
