Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah Meets Delegation from Thomas Cook to Discuss Strengthening Tourism and Travel in Jammu & Kashmir




Shri Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, today met with a delegation from Thomas Cook, India’s leading travel and foreign exchange company, to discuss potential opportunities for strengthening tourism and travel in the region.

The meeting focused on exploring new avenues to enhance Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism sector, which is a key driver of the region’s economy. Both parties exchanged views on developing innovative travel packages, promoting regional attractions, and improving infrastructure to attract domestic and international tourists.

Shri Abdullah expressed his commitment to revitalising the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir and underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in driving growth. He highlighted the state’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the potential for eco-tourism and adventure tourism as key areas for development.

The delegation from Thomas Cook expressed interest in collaborating with the Jammu and Kashmir government to offer unique travel experiences, which would further boost the region's profile as a top tourist destination.
