Indian Celebrities Express Shock and Grief Over Pahalgam Attack




The tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of several innocent civilians, has drawn widespread condemnation and sorrow from across the country, including from the Indian film and sports fraternity. Prominent celebrities have taken to social media to express their anguish, grief, and solidarity with the victims and their families.

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan voiced his sorrow in a heartfelt message posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences.”

Acclaimed actress Alia Bhatt also reacted on Instagram, reflecting on the emotional toll such incidents exact. “Every time something like this happens, it chips away at our shared humanity,” she wrote.

Actors Vicky Kaushal and Akshay Kumar similarly shared posts condemning the violence and extending their thoughts to the bereaved.

The cricketing community, too, mourned the tragedy. Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar wrote on X, “The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal – India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice.”

Current players such as Shubman Gill and former stars including Yuvraj Singh joined in expressing shock and sympathy, highlighting the profound impact the incident has had on the nation's collective conscience.
