Akhilesh Yadav Condemns Demolition of Jain Temple in Mumbai

Lucknow, 18th April 2025: Samajwadi Party President, Shri Akhilesh Yadav, has strongly condemned the demolition of a Jain temple in Mumbai, calling it a part of a disturbing trend of targeted actions against the Jain community by BJP-led governments across India.

Responding to reports about the demolition of the temple, Yadav expressed his concern over the growing atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the Jain community. He accused the ruling party of deliberately undermining the peaceful and law-abiding community, further intensifying the sense of vulnerability faced by minorities in the country.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav said, “In today’s times, being a minority in this country is becoming a curse. The fear, insecurity, and uncertainty prevailing among the Jain community is deeply concerning and has drawn worldwide attention and condemnation.”

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, both domestically and internationally, and has raised questions about the treatment of minority communities under the current political climate. Yadav's remarks underscore the growing discontent over the safety and security of religious minorities in India.

The Samajwadi Party remains committed to advocating for the rights of all communities, ensuring their safety, and promoting an environment of harmony and peace.
